Review the attached document for the channels covered under our Rogers Cable contract.

Digital Adapters

Rogers is in the process of upgrading their cable network to an all-digital format for improved picture and sound quality.  If you have more than 2 TVs in your unit, or TVs that are not connected to a digital box, you may experience issues receiving select channels after January 13, 2014.

The solution is to install a FREE Digital Adapter from Rogers.  To order the adapter, visit rogers.com/digitaladapter or call 1-800-530-4034 and request a FREE courier delivery right to your door.  You will need to quote our Rogers Account Number, 233-434802301 to order your digital adapter.

 

Notice to Residents Regarding Water Damage

Due to the heavy rainfall on Monday July 8, 2013 the Board of Directors has informed the Corporation’s insurance company, Atrens-Counsel of our situation.

The Corporation has a Standard Unit Bylaw in place (see attached). This bylaw indicates exactly what the Corporation is responsible to repair. Each unit owner is responsible for their own betterments and contents. Each unit owner may have a unique situation depending on their insurance coverage.

We ask that each unit owner inspect their unit thoroughly for any water damage. Each room, including corners, ceilings, walls and floors should be inspected. If damage from the rain storm is found, you should immediately contact your insurance company to report any claim and request an adjuster to inspect the damage. Your insurance company will provide direction as to repairs required and possible contractors.  Photos should be taken of the damaged areas.

Report the damage, in writing, to a Board member. A Board member or designate will inspect the damage and submit the report to YCC’s insurance company. Include the name and contact information of your insurance company in your letter. An adjuster from Atrens-Counsel will contact you or your insurance company.

Special Offers

Several Unit Owners voiced concerns regarding aluminium wiring and other electrical issues during our 2012 AGM.  One unit owner, Behrid Bajramovic of  Bosca Electric, is a Master Electrician.   Behrid has a special offer for fellow YCC # 35 Unit Owners.

Assess 4 to 6 switches, plugs and lights and inspect the panel within your unit for $120.

This assessment will enable Behrid to identify whether there are electrical issues that demand further assessment and repair.  If repairs are required, a separate quote will be issued.

One unit owner who had this assessment discovered prior owner renovations including wiring in the finished basement ceiling without junction boxes as well as melting wires in several areas.

HD Terminals

Several Unit Owners have asked about HD Terminals for their TVs.  As you are aware, each unit was given 2 Standard Digital Terminals in 2008.

Unit Owners can easily upgrade one or more of their Standard Digital Terminals to a Hi Definition Terminal.  Go to the Rogers store at Rockwood Mall to upgrade to the HD Terminal.

Note that Rogers will bill you directly for the upgrade.  The monthly fee is approximately $8.50.
